The Difference Between Normal and Optimal
Standard reference ranges tell you whether you have a disease. They were designed to catch outliers in a population that is, on average, overweight, under-muscled, and chronically stressed. Being inside that range does not mean you are performing at your ceiling.
Dr. Valle reads your results against functional medicine ranges: the levels associated with peak cognitive output, lean muscle retention, sexual vitality, cardiovascular efficiency, and energy that does not require caffeine to sustain.
The panel is the beginning, not the end. Every result becomes input to a treatment plan built specifically for you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Fast for 10-12 hours before your draw for accurate glucose, insulin, and lipid readings. Water is fine. Coffee and supplements should be skipped until after the draw.
Typically 3-5 business days. Dr. Valle will review every marker before your follow-up, so you receive an interpretation, not just a printout.
Yes. The $250 lab panel and consultation fee is credited toward any treatment you start with us. It is not a sunk cost. It is the first step in your plan.
Normal on a standard reference range is not the same as optimal. Dr. Valle reviews your results against functional medicine ranges — the levels associated with peak performance, not just the absence of disease.
Yes. If you have recent labs (within 6 months), bring them. Dr. Valle will review them and determine whether a full redraw is needed or whether we can work from what you have.
True Roots is a private-pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. We can provide a superbill you may submit to your insurer for potential reimbursement depending on your plan.
